28 July 2026 – Today, Malaysia took another step forward with the official launch of AI Malaysia.
Launched by YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, this momentous occasion marks a significant milestone in our journey toward becoming an AI Nation by 2030.
Serving as the nation’s core execution entity, AI Malaysia aims to drive the implementation of the National AI Action Plan 2026-2030, accelerating AI adoption across government, businesses, and society. Crucially, it also focuses on building public trust in AI through the Malaysia AI Safety Institute.
Through AI Malaysia, we aim to strengthen our position as a regional leader in AI innovation, ensuring that responsible technology delivers meaningful, secure benefits for the rakyat and our communities.

AI untuk Rakyat is an initiative to close the digital literacy gap among Malaysians. For students, this program can provide a basic overview of the world of AI which aims to attract their interest to enter and further build a career in this sector. For other groups of society, this program can provide a basic understanding of AI to promote better awareness and appreciation of a technology that is beneficial to individuals, society and ultimately the country.
