2 July 2026 – MyDIGITAL Corporation, through Rakyat Digital, together with strategic partner Petrosains, marked a meaningful milestone through its inaugural outreach programme with indigenous communities in Sarawak.

Held at Kolej Tun Datu Tuanku Haji Bujang as part of the Karnival Pendidikan Murid Peribumi Penan Peringkat Negeri Sarawak, organised by MOE through JPN Sarawak, the programme engaged more than 200 students, including Penan students from across Sarawak and students from other indigenous communities such as Iban, Kayan, Kenyah and Lun Bawang.

Through the programme, MyDIGITAL Corporation introduced the Rakyat Digital platform and its free digital learning resources, while Petrosains inspired students through its signature Science Show and interactive STEM activities.

This initiative reflects our shared commitment as expressed through the MD2030 aspiration, which aims to bring digital and AI awareness closer to communities across Malaysia, ensuring every Malaysian could learn, participate and thrive in the digital age.

More than adopting technology, MD2030 is about producing it – positioning Malaysia as a regional leader in AI-driven digital solutions. 

“Malaysia has set the aspiration of KL20; to be the world’s top 20 innovation hub and startup ecosystem by 2030. Very ambitious but not impossible to achieve. Hence it is imperative to ensure the availability of local talents who will drive the country’s AI technology growth. Active efforts are being made to improve digital skills and re-skilling at all levels of society; from identifying challenges and opportunities in the digital talent landscape in Malaysia, to coordinating efforts to improve the school education curriculum. By fostering awareness and understanding of new technologies, we can turn doubt into hope, fear into empowerment and challenges into opportunities to attract digital talent to deepen knowledge and skills in new technologies including AI technology.” said Rafizi Ramli, Minister of Economy of Malaysia.

AI untuk Rakyat is an initiative to close the digital literacy gap among Malaysians. For students, this program can provide a basic overview of the world of AI which aims to attract their interest to enter and further build a career in this sector. For other groups of society, this program can provide a basic understanding of AI to promote better awareness and appreciation of a technology that is beneficial to individuals, society and ultimately the country.
