7 October 2026 – How do we make change last after attention moves on?
At the ASIAN Change Management Conference 2026, MyDIGITAL Corporation’s Senior Director, Ellina Roslan, shared our perspective on what it takes to sustain change beyond the initial launch, programme or project cycle.
Drawing from Malaysia’s own digital transformation journey; from the Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint (MDEB) to the Malaysia Digital 2030 Action Plan (MD2030), she reflected on how long-term transformation requires more than a clear strategy. It requires ownership, accountability, reinforcement and the ability to adapt as the environment changes.
Her keynote centred on three simple but important disciplines: Own it. Embed it. Evolve it.
At national scale, this means being clear about who is accountable for outcomes, embedding priorities into how delivery is managed, and continuously evolving the approach as technology, risks and opportunities change.
Malaysia’s journey towards becoming an AI Nation by 2030 illustrates this clearly. The transition from MDEB to MD2030 is not about changing direction for the sake of change. It is about keeping the destination clear while adapting the pathway to remain relevant in a rapidly evolving digital and AI landscape.
The discussion also highlighted an important shift in how we define success.
Transformation should not be measured only by launches, activities or programmes completed, but by whether new behaviours, capabilities and outcomes continue after the initial attention has moved on.
As Ellina shared during the session: “Change has taken root when we stop celebrating launches and start celebrating outcomes.”
For MyDIGITAL Corporation, this is also a reminder of the role we play in supporting Malaysia’s digital transformation journey, not only in shaping plans, but in helping ensure that change is owned, embedded and able to evolve over time.
