8 October 2026 – What does it really take to prepare a nation for the AI era?

At FWD Kuala Lumpur 2026, hosted by Coursera and Udemy, our CEO, Adrian Marcellus, joined the Powerhouse Panel on Building Human Readiness in the AI Era, sharing a national perspective on what it will take for Malaysia to become an AI Nation by 2030.

Alongside leaders from higher education and banking, the discussion explored how different sectors are preparing people for a rapidly changing world of work, from enterprise talent strategies to equipping students for evolving careers.

Adrian highlighted that AI readiness is not about turning everyone into an AI expert, but ensuring Malaysians across sectors can understand and apply AI meaningfully in their work and daily lives, while retaining the critical thinking to navigate its limitations, risks and opportunities.

As Adrian put it: “Always remember that you are the boss, not the machine. And the machine is your assistant.”

This thinking is reflected in efforts through Rakyat Digital and the Global Learning Pass, which aim to give Malaysians access not only to digital and AI skills, but also to learning that helps them navigate AI responsibly and confidently.

As Malaysia works towards becoming an AI Nation by 2030, the challenge is not simply how quickly we adopt AI, but how well we prepare people to use it.

Thank you to Coursera and Udemy for the opportunity to contribute to this conversation, and to fellow panellists Raja Singham (BAC Education Group), Usha Devi (UOB) and Janet Sng (OCBC), and moderator Ramya Srinivasan, for a thoughtful exchange.

Human skills. AI scale.

For MyDIGITAL Corporation, this is also a reminder of the role we play in supporting Malaysia’s digital transformation journey, not only in shaping plans, but in helping ensure that change is owned, embedded and able to evolve over time.
