A Historic Milestone for Malaysia’s Industrial Transformation Journey

The official launch of the Sarawak Transitioning Industrial Cluster (TIC Sarawak) marked a significant milestone in advancing Malaysia’s industrial transformation, energy transition, and digitalisation agenda.

The launch ceremony was officiated by:
• The Right Honourable Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, Premier of Sarawak
• YB Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Digital and Network Champion of MYCentre4IR
• Ms Neo Gim Huay, Managing Director, World Economic Forum (WEF)

The ceremony was also witnessed by ministers, deputy ministers, heads of departments, industry leaders, TIC Sarawak signatories, and strategic partners from across government, industry, academia, and the international community.

As Malaysia’s first Transitioning Industrial Cluster under the World Economic Forum’s global initiative, TIC Sarawak represents a new model of collaboration that brings together clean energy, digital technologies, industrial innovation, and sustainable development within a single industrial ecosystem.

Anchored in the Bintulu–Samalaju corridor, TIC Sarawak is expected to strengthen industrial competitiveness, attract investment, create quality jobs, accelerate decarbonisation efforts, and support Malaysia’s ambitions under MD2030, N4IRP, NETR, NIMP 2030, and RMK-13.

This launch marks the beginning of a long-term journey towards building a more resilient, sustainable, and future-ready industrial economy for Sarawak, Malaysia, and the wider ASEAN region.
