MyDIGITAL Corporation unveiled today the MyDIGITAL\nProgress Report 2021 that charts the progress and achievements made by the Malaysia\nDigital Economy Blueprint (MDEB) for the last 10 months.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a6e7442 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"a6e7442\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe MDEB was launched in February last year, a national initiative that is crucial in\nrealising the Twelfth Malaysia Plan 2021-2015 (12MP), with the objective to transform\nMalaysia into a digitally enabled and technology-driven high-income nation in three\nphases by 2030. Despite the challenges in the past year brought about by the COVID-19\npandemic, much progress has been made after the end of Phase 1 (2021 \u2013 2022). \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ea3a9d6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ea3a9d6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe MDEB is delivered via six strategic thrusts, 22 strategies, 48 national initiatives and\n28 sectoral initiatives. These initiatives are segmented according to six clusters:\nEconomy, Digital Talent, Digital Infrastructure and Data, Society, Emerging Technology,\nand Government. \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4eec6bc elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4eec6bc\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\u201cThe objective of the Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint is to generate inclusive,\nresponsible, and sustainable socioeconomic development through a vibrant digital\neconomy and ecosystem. Since the launch of the blueprint in February and the\nsubsequent unveiling of the National Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) Policy in July, I\nam pleased to share that the various initiatives and programmes are well underway, and\nwe are on track to achieve a digital economy that can contribute at least 25.5 percent to\nour national Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by 2025,\u201d said Fabian Bigar, Chief Executive\nOfficer of MyDIGITAL Corporation.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-14419c2 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"14419c2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe by 68 percent. Digital consumers have also increased to 88 percent of the population\nlast year, with 46 percent of the population currently making online purchases. \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9678c00 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"9678c00\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tEfforts to boost the usage of e-payments for merchants and consumers were also\nsuccessful, with an estimate of 216 e-payment transactions per capita achieved in 2021.\nPayment facilities have also increased substantially last year, with 36 payment facilities\nper 1,000 users successfully achieved.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7deafd4 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"7deafd4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThrough the various public and private initiatives to boost adoption of e-commerce among\nmicro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME), 235,327 new MSMEs were added last\nyear to the cumulative total of 725,285 businesses that have embraced e-commerce. This\nachievement currently translates to 83 percent of the target of reaching 875,000 MSMEs\nby 2025. \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4da78d4 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4da78d4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tMalaysia continues to be a destination for high value digital investments, with a total of\nRM16.5 billion in digital investments approved by the government in 2021, on track to\nachieving the RM70 billion investment target by 2025.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-dffec29 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"dffec29\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tLast year, 1.3 million higher education students were able to purchase affordable device\nand plan packages through collaboration with private sector service providers, enabling\nconnectivity and access to online learning. 4.4 million students were able enjoy distance\nlearning via the Digital Educational Learning Initiative Malaysia (DELIMa) platform as part\nof efforts to ensure students have access to digital learning facilities.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-16548c3 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"16548c3\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe Cabinet and all state governments have agreed to recognise communications\nservices as a public utility in 2021. All states in Malaysia have agreed to adopt the\nCommunications Infrastructure Planning Guidelines (GPP-I) as the main reference to\nensure that digital infrastructure planning can be planned in a more orderly fashion, is\ninclusive and has a balanced aesthetic value. \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-cc0354a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"cc0354a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t78 percent of all federal ministries, departments and statutory bodies offered cashless\npayment options in 2021. 68 percent of government services are End-to-End (E2E) as of\nlast year, where the services are implemented entirely online from start to finish. \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5ed8541 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5ed8541\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t24 pilot sites were identified and implemented under the Smart Manufacturing Intelligent\nService Platform (SMISP) programme in 2021, a technology lab and collaboration\nplatform via public-private partnerships. The sites are integrating technology solutions to\nfacilitate the adoption of Industry 4.0 technology among manufacturers.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5ca4e0f elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5ca4e0f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tFabian said, \u201cThe most critical feature of the Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint initiative\nthat is crucial to its success is the Whole-of-Nation approach that the blueprint has\nadopted.
