\u2013 Worldwide leader in technology Cisco, in\ncollaboration with MyDIGITAL Corporation hosted the MyDIGITAL Healthcare\nSectoral Workshop at the Le Meridien Putrajaya on Wednesday, 5 October.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-818e5a4 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"818e5a4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe engagement was jointly organised under the MyDIGITAL Catalytic Projects\ninitiative and supports Cisco\u2019s Country Digital Acceleration (CDA) program. The\nMyDIGITAL Catalytic Projects initiative aims to accelerate the digital and\ntechnological transformation of Malaysia\u2019s economy by understanding the challenges\nthat companies face when innovating and acting as a facilitator to the right solutions.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f6bccbc elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"f6bccbc\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSimilarly, Cisco\u2019s CDA program is a strategic partnership with government leaders to\naccelerate their national digitalisation agenda and create new value for the country,\nits businesses, and citizens. In Malaysia, the program focuses on digital adoption\nacross public sector, energy sector, SMEs, and telecommunications service\nproviders. This extends to connecting key ecosystem healthcare partners, patients\nand staff with transformative technologies to power inclusive care for all.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-53ca3a5 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"53ca3a5\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe workshop, which was attended by a total of 42 participants from five sectors,\nfeatured discussions revolving around how digital transformation and innovation can\ntransform and modernise Malaysia\u2019s healthcare system. The workshop gives focus\non virtual healthcare, where the patient\u2019s experience can be improved by streamlining\npatient communication, scheduling, consultation, and follow-up appointments. Five\npotential use cases in virtual healthcare have been shortlisted, namely:\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e667453 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"e667453\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ol style=\"list-style-type: upper-roman;\">\n<li>Remote patient monitoring (RPM)<\/li>\n<li>Emergency Medical Response (patient-centred)<\/li>\n<li>Virtual palliative care<\/li>\n<li>Enhance interoperability of Electronic Medical Records (EMR)<\/li>\n<li>Hospital-based virtual clinics<\/li>\n<\/ol>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0d6c90b elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"0d6c90b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tOver the past two years, the Covid-19 pandemic has underscored the importance of\nthe country\u2019s healthcare system. Malaysia\u2019s experience in responding to the\ncoronavirus, as well as the need to prepare for potential future epidemics, has spurred\nthe adoption of virtual healthcare services as the next natural step in modernising its\nhealthcare system.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-93fac9d elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"93fac9d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe Healthcare Sectoral workshop showcased how AI can be adapted by the sector\nfor virtual healthcare services. AI can help gather relevant data by guiding a patient\nin an automated virtual triage exchange and then selectively escalating to an\nenterprise-scale contact centre. At that point, skilled clinicians can pick up the\ninteraction without losing any data in the process.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8dfa63a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"8dfa63a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe adoption of technology not only allows for a more efficient system but also makes\nhealthcare much more accessible to those who are less mobile or unable to physically\nattend a consultation.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9caeed2 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"9caeed2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAccording to <b>Dato\u2019 Sri Mustapa Mohamed<\/b>, Minister in the Prime Minister\u2019s\n\nDepartment (Economy), \u201cMalaysia was able to weather the challenges of the Covid-\n19 pandemic due to sound government policy and its solid healthcare system.\n\nHowever, there is still a need to modernise and start adopting digital technology to\nour healthcare systems. I am extremely encouraged by the productive and fruitful\ndiscussions during this workshop and am even more excited to see how we can take\nthese ideas forward for our country\u2019s benefit.
